I am a self proclaimed makeup addict. Actually maybe not self proclaimed the hubs would probably tell you that himself. I have been obsessed with makeup for as long as I can remember. To me it’s an art form. You paint your face and express yourself through it. I admit my morning makeup routine is not a 5 minute quick fix, I don’t know that I’ve ever been able to do that. All of my makeup is Urban Decay because 1. I love it and 2. they are Leaping Bunny certified and cruelty free. They do not sell in China as China has mandatory animal testing to be able to sell there. Anyway onto my routine.
Step 1: Primer
If you’re not using a primer, start. Even if all you do is use a BB cream. I love the optical illusion complexion primer. It seriously makes my pores disappear and my face look smooth. A little goes a long way so you’ll get your $34 worth. For my eyes I use the anti-aging primer because #old. If you’re wondering “do I really need a primer for my eyes?” if you wear eyeshadow and eyeliner then yes you do. Unless you like your eye makeup smeared by lunch time.
Step 2: Foundation
This is my everyday foundation. I use the 4.0 shade which is a warm light medium with olive/golden undertones. I’m half Mexican so my skin looks somewhat tan year round. The foundation provides great coverage while feeling lightweight and barely there. I also use the All Nighter foundation (also in 4.0) for a night out or an event where I will be photographed.
Step 3: Correct and Conceal
I have a few red spots that I use this green color correcting fluid for. I use the concealer (in light – neutral) under my eyes and on any blemishes that I might have. In a post for another day I’ve starting getting a facial once a month and it is definitely helping.
Step 4: Set you foundation
I love this powder so much. It really does give an airbrushed look. Remember to swipe some powder across your eye lids to set your primer!
Step 5: Highlight & Contour
This palette is the best and makes highlighting and contouring a breeze. Bronzer, highlighter and blush all in one! I have the Nooner palette which has a dust rose blush.
Step 6: Eyes
I generally keep my eyes simple for Monday-Friday. Just some eye shadow, eye liner and mascara. No crazy smoked eye or fake eyelashes. I definitely recommend this mascara if you’re like me and barely have any eyelashes. Makes them look full and thick.
Step 7: Lips
Step 8: Set
Preferably you set your makeup with the All Nighter spray which is amazing. Not with your brush cleaner like I did yesterday. Is it Friday yet?
