Back In Action

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted. If you follow my Instagram you know that we are now home owners and all weekends have been spent working on the house. Not terribly exciting, but between work being incredibly busy and projects at the house I haven’t had much time for anything else. Sadly this includes my training.

This week was an incredibly incredibly terrible week. By that I mean I got in one workout this week. One. I tried telling myself that painting, and such is sort of like working out but I know it isn’t. I know that when training you have to expect things to come up, and sometimes life gets in the way, but I still can’t believe I only got one workout in this week. I ran a great half marathon last weekend despite the miserable conditions. (re: half frozen water at aid stations and last 6 miles into a awful headwind) I should have been so motivated from that that this last week should have rocked, but I made the choices I did and I can only hope that all the hard work in the weeks prior to this terrible one will carry me through. I know this week is going to be hard but I’ll make it because I don’t have a choice.

So in happier news, Iowa State has made it to the Sweet Sixteen! We are getting our DirecTv set up at the new house Friday which means we won’t have it at our condo. However despite not having furniture at the new house, we have our camp chairs, beers and snacks and we’ll be watching our Cyclones from the construction zone that is our new house. Hopefully when we watch them in the Elite 8 we’ll have some furniture…

Keep it real,

  1. I am glad that your half marathon went well. Focus on that instead of the disappointment over the # of workouts you got in last week. Buying a home is so much work and there is just so much to do. I can see why you are having a hard time balancing it all. I hope this is a better week for you!

And I was happy to see Iowa State beat UNC! 🙂 Very very very happy.
