First Week

Well this week is the first week of marathon training. So far……well it could be better. This weather is starting to get to me, I cannot handle running on the treadmill anymore. I think I’m just going to have to suck it up and brave the cold. I don’t think I can handle much more than 45 minutes on the treadmill so getting in my 6+ mile runs just isn’t an option. I can’t imagine running in 9 degrees is going to be pleasant but I actually think it might be more pleasant than running on the treadmill.

Anyway, I have been doing my best to control my eating habits but again, this weather just makes me want to drink heavy beers and eat nachos. Which probably isn’t the best training fuel, but damn if it isn’t good. Instead of eating pasta, bread, or other heavy delicious winter dishes I’ve been just throwing things that I love onto mixed greens for some sort of weird salad concoction. It usually ends up being some avacado (duh) quinoa, roasted chickpeas, tuna fish, and a little goat cheese. Sounds random, like who would think to put this stuff together in a bowl with some greens? Me apparently and I think it is the greats thing ever created. I’m going to patent it and sell it to Whole Foods. Be on the look out.

In non fitness news, we are house shopping and it is not as fun as it sounds. I’m hoping we find something soon because I don’t know how much more I can take. Keep your fingers crossed.

If you don’t follow me on Instagram you should. I’ll leave you with a few of my favorites as of late.

New Hunter boots. So in love.

Lots of coffee to keep me going during weekend house hunting.

Alright this isn’t really from my Instagram, but it’s still relevant because Benedict Cumberbatch.

Keep it real,

  1. I love your hunters! I have a pair of navy ones that I love. And your salad concoction looked great on IG! I am all about salads with lots of different ingredients.

I hope mother nature is more kind to you guys in February. I have so much respect for people who train for marathons during this time of year as I am just too much of a weather wimp to try that! I wish I was back to running and could train for a marathon here in Charlotte as their winter is definitely more running friendly, but oh well.
