2013 In Review

So I’m pretty late at this year end recap. Also I’m pretty late on blogging at all really. It’s like when you don’t reply to a phone call or email for a while, and then you just keep putting it off because you don’t want the person to be reminded that they emailed or called you like 2 months ago and you never got back to them. I didn’t want to post because I didn’t want you all to be reminded that it’s been almost 2 months since I last posted. None the less, that band-aid has been ripped off and here I am. So here we go, my 2013 In Review:

Job: In 2013 I went from contractor to full time employee and boy was that a relief. When I moved to Minneapolis I didn’t really have a job lined up and I took a job as a contract to potential hire. I knew it was a bit of a risk but it was with a good company and would expand my skills none the less so I went for it. Luckily for me I ended up loving my job and the people I support and they decided to hire me on full time.

Travel: Went to two places I’ve been dying to go to for a long time last year: Disneyworld and Ireland. Disneyworld was fun and it was nice to check off a childhood dream, but Ireland was where it was at. I honestly could go on at length about how amazing that place is.

Relationships: I got married this year. Being married has been pretty rad, The Hubs is the best partner I could ask for. However I still have not changed my feelings towards the wedding. I think a lot of people thought in hindsight I’d be really happy I had a “real” wedding, but no. I’m happy everyone one else is happy we did it, but if I had to go back and do it again I’d still choose going to the courthouse. We’re house shopping right now and I can’t help but always think “hey remember that almost 10K we spent on the wedding? Wouldn’t it be awesome if we had that money right now?”

Fitness: 2013…..ehhhhhh not my best year by far. I started off well and was training for a marathon, but halfway through I realized that there was no way I could fully dedicate myself to training and plan the wedding. So sadly, I gave up my marathon 2013 goal. I had fun going to my classes with my coworkers but honestly short of that, I was a bit of a bum in the fitness department.

Fashion: In 2013 at the ripe old age of 28, I finally came into my own when it came to style. I think most people have always considered me stylish, but this year I finally became comfortable and owned my favorite style that I have loved I’m sure since I was born into this world; feminine/preppy/classic style. I love dresses and skirts and hate pants. I like bows, pearls, headbands, polos, florals, tartan, argyle blazers ect. I still like keeping up and trying out the latest trends but rest assured it will not be the edgy/funky trends. You will not see me rocking track pants all dressed up. Even though in my Vogue I loved all the styles and secretly am hoping my BFF goes for it because I know she can pull it off, but me? I’d just look like I showed up to the party only half changed from the gym, not like I just came off the runway.

Random: In 2013 I discovered the BBC show Sherlock and fell in love with Benedict Cumberbatch. That man can do no wrong.
